TUSCALOOSA - Natalia Dyer (Stranger Things) stars in Tuscaloosa as an institutionalized nymphomaniac plotting her escape.

PLOT --- 1972 Tuscaloosa, Alabama
Love is a fickle friend in a mixed up story with friendship, freedom, and rebellion. As a teen she was institutionalized by her father for alleged nymphomania. Virginia (Natalia Dyer) needs to escape the state mental hospital before she's gets a brain damaging operation. Looking for a friend to help her bust out she finds Billy (Devon Bostick) the hospital grounds keeper. But Billy and his best friend Nigel are trying to piece together their own broken lives after mysteriously losing their mothers. Abandoned as children, they grew up together as brothers but as the years pass, allegiances change. A story filled with controversy and chaos set in the sweltering heat of the south. There's a war going on and Watts sparks a fire in T-town.

An excellently cast film featuring rising stars Natalia Dyer, Marchant Davis and YG also featuring established actors Devon Bostick and Tate Donovan. Beautifully shot period piece with intricate attention to detail. A touching, at times funny, and thoughtfully original story with intense speed and breathtaking grace.

The new highly anticipated indie film that almost didn’t get made, but with some luck and lots of favors Tuscaloosa was able to get finished. With only 3 weeks to film before Natalia had to continue to work on Stranger Things, schedules and budgets were finalized and all the principle scenes were shot with her and Co-star Devon Bostick.

Tuscaloosa premiered at the Nashville 50th Film Festival October 5 and is anticipated for a 2020 release.
