Three local children’s homes and a school that caters to children with special needs were the recipients of a generous donation from Atlantis, Paradise Island during the recent ninth annual Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis championship game last Friday, November 29th.
Having hosted a raffle for a chance to win $5,000 during a half-court shot to raise funds for victims of Hurricane Dorian, Atlantis decided to match the proceeds generated and was happy to offer a donation of $2,500 to each of the representatives of: The Ranfurly Homes for Children, The Bahamas Children’s Emergency Hostel, The Grand Bahama Children’s Home and Every Child Counts (ECC) in Abaco.
After the passage of Hurricane Dorian, The Ranfurly Home as well as The Bahamas Children’s Emergency Hostel welcomed displaced children from ECC and the Grand Bahama Children’s Home – many of them remaining there to date.
The Bahamas Children’s Emergency hostel also received a generous donation of clothing, toiletries, pampers and snacks from the University of North Carolina Tarheels basketball team, one of eight schools who participated in the recent Battle 4 Atlantis tournament. The donations were a part of a hurricane relief campaign that was spearhead by Brandon Robinson, a top player on the university’s basketball team.
