Accolades and Activities for National Sports of Fame 2019 Class

Members of the National Sports of Fame 2019 Class have a calendar full of activities and accolades, as part of the Sports Division of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture’s National Sports Heritage Month. Among the activities they participated in for the month, so far, were a church service at Calvary Bible Chapel; a Courtesy Call with Minister the Hon. Lanisha Rolle; recognition and photo opportunities with Parliamentarians at the House of Assembly; and a Meet-and-Greet Luncheon at the British Colonial Hilton. Other activities slated for the rest of November include media events, a tour of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force Base; and the Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at Government House on December 3, 2019. The 2019 Class includes Raymond Tucker, Ray Whylly and Paul Wong for Bodybuilding; Jacklyn Conyers for Volleyball; Ronald Cartwright for Coach (Track and Field); Basil "The Kid" Sands, Stancel "Stoney" Ferguson and Linda Davis for Basketball; Ali Culmer for Softball; M. Ambrose Gouthro and Prince "Zorro" Stubbs (deceased) for Golf; and Walter Callendar (deceased) for Track and Field.
