Sebastien now moving Northeastward across the Central Atlantic

NEWS ITEM ON TROPICAL STORM SEBASTIEN ISSUED BY THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY FORECAST OFFICE SECTION AT 6 PM THURSDAY 21ST NOVEMBER 2019.

...SEBASTIEN NOW MOVING NORTHEASTWARD ACROSS THE CENTRAL ATLANTIC...

AT 5:00 PM AST, THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM SEBASTIEN WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 23.8° NORTH AND LONGITUDE 59.7° WEST OR 445 MILES NORTH-NORTHEAST OF THE NORTHERN LEEWARD ISLANDS.

SEBASTIEN IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH NEAR 9 MILES PER HOUR AND THIS MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE WITH AN INCREASE IN FORWARD SPEED DURING THE NEXT FEW DAYS.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 60 MILES PER HOUR WITH HIGHER GUSTS. SOME STRENGTHENING IS EXPECTED DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS AND SEBASTIEN COULD BECOME A HURRICANE ON FRIDAY. A WEAKENING TREND IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN BY LATE FRIDAY AND THE SYSTEM IS LIKELY TO BECOME AN EXTRATROPICAL CYCLONE ON SATURDAY.
