Today, officials from AML Foods Limited officially launched the company’s 4th Annual Feed 5000 Families holiday giveback. Executives also announced that the company will jumpstart their goal of raising $150,000 with a $30,000 donation towards the initiative in celebration of their 30th year Anniversary.

Between November 14th -December 19th, 2019, AML is appealing to the general public and corporate Bahamas to purchase or donate towards the purchase of Christmas Dinner Packages valued at $40 at all Solomon’s Fresh Market, Solomon’s and Cost Right locations in New Providence and Grand Bahama. Each package will contain items to prepare a festive holiday meal for a family in need.

During a press conference held at Solomon’s Yamacraw, the company joined representatives from the Bahamas Feeding Network who will assist with the distribution of the meals to families in New Providence and on Grand Bahama. This year the aim is to also assist those families affected by Hurricane Dorian.

“We are extremely grateful to have been chosen by AML Foods as their partner for the last four years in the Feed 5000 Families initiative,” said Philip Smith, Executive Director, Bahamas Feeding Network. “We have worked extremely well with AML Foods through the solicitation of corporate Bahamas as well as the distribution of the food parcels to those experiencing food insecurity through our membership of more than 100 soup kitchens, feeding centers and churches located in Nassau, Grand Bahama, Abaco and other family islands. We look forward to ensuring that as many persons as possible, particularly those affected by hurricane Dorian, are assured of a hearty Christmas meal as a result of the success of this initiative.”

According to AML’s Group Marketing Manager Derrick Allahar, the company’s commitment is based on compassion and a desire to ensure that no one goes hungry over the holidays.

“As we look forward to a holiday season filled with festivities, food and fun, many Bahamian families will continue to struggle to meet their basic needs, especially the persons impacted by the recent hurricane. This year, AML Foods Limited will once again support those in need through our Feed 5000 Families giveback campaign,” said Allahar.

Allahar explained that since 2016, the company has donated over the $300,000 in grocery items to families around the country through the support of its partners and the Bahamian community. “This year, our goal is to raise $150,000 for the Feed 5000 Families initiative. November marked our 30th year anniversary and in honor of this milestone we increased our donation this year to $30,000.”

In addition to purchasing meal packages in store, persons can also support the program by logging on to www.dominos242.com and donating online.

Christmas Dinner Packages will be distributed on December 20th, 2019.
