Seven Day Forecast for the Bahamas from 11th to 17th November 2019

General Situation: A cold front will exit the SE Bahamas as high pressure ridge builds north of the Bahamas through Tuesday. A second cold front will move southeastwards across South Florida, then into the NW Bahamas by Wednesday morning followed by a building high pressure ridge north of the area. As this second front moves through the Bahamas in the vicinity of the Central and SE Bahamas, while a third front will push through the United States with pre-frontal activity reaching the NW Bahamas late Friday into early Saturday. By late early Sunday, the front will reach the Central Bahamas as high pressure building in its wake.

Monday 11th – Partly sunny, breezy and warm mainly across the NW and Central Bahamas but variably cloudy and breezy with few passing showers or a vicinity thunderstorms during the daytime. Partly cloudy to fair skies and warm over most areas at night with the chance of a passing shower. Maximum temperature 82°F and a minimum temperature 73°F. Small craft should exercise caution overall areas. Winds NE to E at 15 to 20 knots overall areas, but gusty at times. Seas 4 to 7 feet overall areas but in light to moderate NE’ly to E’ly swells over open exposed Atlantic waters.

Tuesday 12th – Partly sunny and warm with the slight chance of isolated showers possible, turning partly cloudy to fair and warm at night with the slight chance of a passing shower. Maximum temperature 84°F and a minimum temperature 74°F. Small craft should exercise caution in the Central and SE Bahamas early. Winds E to SE at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas, falling 10 knots or less at times and E to SE at 15 to 20 knots early in the Central and SE Bahamas, falling to 10 to 15 knots later. Seas 2 to 4 feet in the NW Bahamas, falling to 1 to 3 feet and 4 to 6 feet in the Central and SE Bahamas, falling to 2 to 4 feet later but higher in diminishing light to moderate NE’ly to E’ly swells.

Wednesday 13th – Partly cloudy to cloudy, a bit windy and warm with few scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms mainly across the NE Bahamas during the daytime. Variably cloudy and warm with few lingering showers the night. Maximum temperature 84°F and minimum temperature 73°F. Small craft advisory across the Extreme NW Bahamas and caution across the Central Bahamas later. Winds variable at 10 knots or less at first across the NW and Central Bahamas but turning N to NE at 15 to 25 knots across the Extreme NW Bahamasby early afternoon; NE’ly at 15 to 20 knots in the Central Bahamas late and E to SE backing NE to E at 10 to 15 knots in the SE Bahamas. Seas 5 to 8 feet across the Extreme NW Bahamas; 2 to 4 feet across the rest of the NW and Central Bahamas building to 4 to 6 feet in the Central Bahamas late and 2 to 4 feet in the SE Bahamas. Seas up to 8 to 11 feet in the NW Bahamas.

Thursday 14th – Partly cloudy to cloudy, a bit breezy and very warm at times with few scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms during the daytime through nightfall. Maximum temperature 86°F and minimum temperature 73°F. Small craft advisory continues across the Extreme NW Bahamas. Winds NE to E at 15 to 25 knots across the Extreme NW Bahamas and NE to E at 10 to 15 knots elsewhere, falling light and variable at times. Seas 5 to 8 feet in the Extreme NW Bahamas but up to 11 feet un N’ly to NE’ly swells and 2 to 4 feet, falling to 1 to 3 feet at times elsewhere in the Bahamas with N’ly swells up to 7 feet.

Friday 15th – Mostly cloudy to occasionally overcast, warm and humid with few scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms possible during the daytime. Mostly cloudy and warm at night time with few lingering showers or a possible thunderstorm. Maximum temperature 86°F and minimum temperature 75°F. Winds S to SW at 10 knots or less in the NW and Central Bahamas, falling light and variable at times and E to SE at 10 to 15 knots in the SE Bahamas, falling to 10 knots or less at times. Seas 1 to 3 feet in the NW and Central Bahamas and 2 to 4 feet in the SE Bahamas, falling to 1 to 3 feet at times. Seas up to 6 feet in diminishing N’ly to NE’ly swells over open exposed Atlantic waters.

Saturday 16th – Partly cloudy to cloudy and very warm early with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms across the NW and Central Bahamas during the daytime through the night. Partly sunny and warm with the chance of a passing shower in the SE Bahamas, turning partly cloudy to fair and warm at night. Maximum temperature 84°F and minimum temperature 71°F. Small craft should exercise caution across the NW Bahamas early with brief gusts to advisory through night time. Winds S to SW at 10 to 15 knots or less across the NW and Central Bahamas, but switching W to NW at 15 to 20 knots with higher gusts in the NW Bahamas and E to SE at 10 knots or less in the SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet in the NW and Central Bahamas but building to 4 to 7 feet in moderate NE’ly swells and 1 to 3 feet in the SE Bahamas.

Sunday 17th – Variably cloudy and mild with few scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms mainly in the NW and Central Bahamas during the daytime. Partly cloudy to fair skies and mild with the chance of showers mainly along the Central and SE Bahamas. Maximum temperature 85°F and minimum temperature 70°F. Small craft should exercise caution in the NW Bahamas. Winds NW to N at 15 to 25 knots in the NW Bahamas; N’ly at 10 to 15 knots in the Central Bahamas and variable at 10 knots in the SE Bahamas, becoming N’ly at 10 to 15 knots later. Seas 5 to 8 feet in the NW Bahamas but up to 12 feet in the N’ly to NE’ly swells in the NW Bahamas and 2 to 4 feet in the Central and SE Bahamas, but up to 6 feet in the N’ly and E’ly swells.

Beachgoers and mariners should be vigilant for rough surf and the moderate to high risk of dangerous rip currents mainly along the north and east coast beaches during the stated advisories. Mariners should exercise caution for gusty winds and higher seas during heavy showers or strong to severe thunderstorms. Mariners should also be alert for waterspout activity during the daytime through nightfall across all areas. Localized flooding during heavy downpours across low lying and flood prone areas is expected.
