Severe Weather Warning Update for Grand Bahamas and Its Adjacent Waters

THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY HAS ISSUED A SEVERE WEATHER WARNING FROM 1:00 PM EDT UNTIL 3:00 PM EDT, WEDNESDAY 6TH NOVEMBER 2019.

A SEVERE WEATHER WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR GRAND BAHAMA AND ITS ADJACENT WATERS.

AT 12:50 PM, OBSERVATION, RADAR AND SATELLITE IMAGERY DEPICTED A LINE OF CONVECTIVE CLOUDS TO THE EAST OF GRAND BAHAMA ASSOCIATED WITH A PRE-FRONTAL TROUGH.

FUNNEL CLOUDS AND WATERSPOUTS HAVE BEEN OBSERVED WITHIN THE WARNING AREA. TORNADIC ACTIVITY IS POSSIBLE IN THE EVENT OF THE FUNNEL CLOUDS MOVING INLAND.

BOATERS AND RESIDENTS IN THE WARNING AREA SHOULD REMAIN VIGILANT DUE TO THE HAZARDOUS NATURE OF THESE FEATURES AND SEEK SAFE HARBOUR AND REMAIN INDOORS AND AWAY FROM WINDOWS IN THE EVENT THAT CONDITIONS WORSEN.
