NEWS ITEM ON POST-TROPICAL CYCLONE REBEKAH ISSUED BY THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY FORECAST OFFICE SECTION, AT 6AM, FRIDAY, 1ST NOVEMBER, 2019.

…REBEKAH BECOMES A POST-TROPICAL REMNANT LOW…

AT 5:00 AM AST, THE CENTER OF POST-TROPICAL CYCLONE REBEKAH WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 40.6° NORTH AND LONGITUDE 29.0° WEST OR 140 MILES NORTH OF THE CENTRAL AZORES.

THE POST-TROPICAL CYCLONE IS MOVING TOWARD THE EAST NEAR 20 MILES PER HOUR AND THIS MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE THROUGH TONIGHT.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS HAVE DECREASED TO NEAR 35 MILES PER HOUR WITH HIGHER GUSTS. CONTINUED WEAKENING IS FORECAST AND THE POST-TROPICAL CYCLONE IS EXPECTED TO DISSIPATE THIS AFTERNOON OR TONIGHT.
