Statement from Adrian Gibson on The passing of Tennyson Wells

Tue, Sep 24th 2019, 03:38 PM

I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of one of Long Island's finest, Mr. Tennyson Wells.
He was a proud Long Islander, a native son of the soil.

Mr. Wells is a former long-serving Member of Parliament for the Bamboo Town constituency and a former minister whose portfolios included the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries and the Office of the Attorney General.
From his contribution to the legal community and to local jurisprudence and business, to his dynamic contributions on matters of public interest, Mr. Wells embodied many of the core values that we Long Islanders hold true.
His indelible imprint and contributions to our country's national development will stand the test of time.
I was honoured to have had his support during the last general election. He was a vocal supporter and offered advice that was instrumental to our campaign and thereafter. I am forever grateful for his input.
This morning, I spoke with several of his family members and was able to extend heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathies on behalf of my family and I, and the people of Long Island. Our prayers are with you.
May you be comforted by the outpouring of love surrounding you.
May his soul rest in peace.
