Hotels buying more Bahamian produce

Having seen a significant increase in the uptake of Bahamian agricultural produce after a new promotional exercise was launched earlier this year, the Bahamas Agricultural and Industrial Corporation (BAIC) is focusing much of its efforts now on "intercepting" hotel food supply chains to ensure even greater linkages between the two industries.

Amanda Wells, agricultural marketing officer at BAIC, said feedback from farmers and buyers over an agricultural bulletin that highlights which fruits, vegetables and meats are available in the Bahamas on a weekly basis - and how they can be accessed - has been very "positive".
