The Student Christian Movement (SCM) of the R.N. Gomez Comprehensive School in Bullock's Harbour, the Berry Islands, joined with civic and religious leaders in a prayer service, in keeping with the National Prayer Service in New Providence, September 18, 2019,  at St. Bartholomew Anglican Church, in Bullock's Harbour. Leading the prayers were Pastor Jennifer Roberts of the Church of God Of Prophecy (Great Harbour Cay), Ms. Leefa Swain of Revival Time Highway Church of God, and school teacher Dawnette Campbell.

SCM Leaders Mrs. Maxine Arthur (high school) and Mrs. Ronette McAulay (primary school) organized the event and Vice-Principal Sharon North brought remarks. Also during the service, there was a presentation on Hurricane Dorian and students and Berry Islanders in attendance gave monetary donations for the Hurricane Dorian relief efforts. There are more than 20 students who recently joined the school from islands affected by the storm and, of note, one of the service's moderators, Nathan Hardy, is a survivor of the storm's onslaught in Abaco.
