BTC employees have been at Odyssey Aviation welcoming evacuees from Abaco since Wednesday.

The company is replacing cell phones free of charge, to customers who lost their phones during Hurricane Dorian.

CEO, Garry Sinclair said, “We are focused on bringing relief to any resident of Grand Bahama and Abaco regardless of their service provider.

Our teams have been stationed at the airport providing replacement phones, SIM cards and credit. We hope that this small gesture will assist persons coming into New Providence and any Family Island.”

Employees will continue to be stationed at Odyssey Aviation to hand out free handsets as more evacuees come in over the weekend.

On Wednesday, BTC opened its mobile network providing free local calls and data till midnight on Sunday, to all customers to enable them to connect with family and friends.

Billing has also been suspended for all customers in the impacted islands until further notice.

Sinclair ended by saying, “We understand that in times of crisis, these are the moments when people want to connect with their loved ones and we are doing everything in our power to make that happen.”
