CARICOM Representatives Take Part in Fly Over to See Destruction from the Onslaught of Hurricane Dorian

Cabinet Ministers and Senior Government Officials joined Caribbean Community (CARICOM) representatives on a fly over of the Abacos and Grand Bahama, on September 5, 2019. The flight was an opportunity for those involved to see firsthand the catastrophic damage caused by Hurricane Dorian, even though they could not access those areas by landing. Among those representing the Bahamas Government included Minister of Tourism, the Hon. Dionisio D’Aguilar; Minister of Work the Hon. Renward Wells; Minster of Education the Hon. Jeffrey Lloyd; Minister of Social Services and Urban Development the Hon. Frankie A. Campbell; Minister of Public Service and National Insurance the Hon. Brensil Rolle; Minister of Financial Services, Trade, Industry and Immigration the Hon. Elsworth Johnson; Ambassador to CARICOM, His Excellency Reuben Rahming; Member of Parliament for North Andros and Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Marine Resources Carlton Bowleg; and National Emergency Management Agency Director Capt. Stephen Russell.

Among the senior CARICOM representatives taking part in the fly-over were: Prime Minister of St. Lucia, Chairman of the CARICOM, the Hon. Allen Chastanet; Prime Minister of Barbados, the Hon. Mia Amor Mottley; Secretary General of CARICOM His Excellency Irwin LaRocque; Executive Director of the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) Ronald Jackson; ; President of the Caribbean Development Bank Dr. William Warren Smith; and Executive Director of the Regional Security System Captain Errington Shurland.
