General Situation: Trailing tropical moisture from Hurricane Dorian well north of the Bahamas will produce pockets of unsettled weather over parts of the NW Bahamas through tonight. Weak high pressure system will slowly build through the weekend. The new week will see building high pressure ridge with moderate to fresh breezes over the area as mid to upper level troughs produces pockets of unsettled weather.

Friday 06th – Partly sunny, hot and a bit breezy at times with few scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms mainly across the NW Bahamas during the daytime. Partly cloudy to fair and warm at night with the chance of a passing shower. Maximum temperature 93°F and a minimum temperature 80°F. Winds SW to W at 10 to 15 knots with higher gusts early in the NW Bahamas; SSE to SSW at 10 knots or less and E’ly at 10 to 15 knots in the SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet over the NW Bahamas but higher in gusts and 2 to 4 feet in the SE Bahamas.

Saturday 07th – Partly cloudy, hot and humid with few scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms mainly across the NW and SE Bahamas during the daytime through nightfall. Maximum temperature 92°F and a minimum temperature 81°F. Winds S to SW at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas; E’ly at 10 knots or less in the Central Bahamas and E’ly at 10 to 15 knots in the SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet in the NW and SE Bahamas and 1 to 3 feet in the Central Bahamas.

Sunday 08th
– A mix of sun and clouds and hot with few scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms except for sunnier and dryer conditions across the Central Bahamas. Fair to clear skies and warm across the Central Bahamas with cloudy skies and warm conditions in the NW and Central Bahamas. Maximum temperature 92°F and minimum temperature 81°F. Winds SSE to SSW at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas, falling light and variable at times and E’ly at 10 to 15 knots with higher gusts early in the Central and SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet overall areas, falling to 1 to 3 feet at times in the NW Bahamas while producing slightly higher seas in gusts across the Central and SE Bahamas early.

Monday 09th – Partly to mostly cloudy and hot with few scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms affecting mainly the SE Bahamas during the daytime through nightfall. Partly to mostly sunny and hot elsewhere with the chance of a passing shower, turning partly cloudy to fair and warm at night. Maximum temperature 92°F and a minimum temperature 80°F. Small craft should exercise caution across the Central and SE Bahamas early. Winds E to SE at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas, decreasing to 10 knots or less later and E’ly at 15 to 20 knots over some areas of the Central and SE Bahamas early, decreasing to 10 to 15 knots later. Seas 2 to 4 feet in the NW Bahamas and 4 to 6 feet in the Central and SE Bahamas, falling to 2 to 4 feet later.

Tuesday 10th – Partly to mostly sunny, hot and humid with the chance of isolated showers or a possible isolated thunderstorm during the daytime. Partly cloudy to fair and warm at night with the chance of few scattered showers mainly in the SE Bahamas.Maximum temperature 91°F and a minimum temperature 80°F. Small craft should exercise caution over parts of the Central Bahamas early. Winds NE to E at 10 to 15 knots across the entire Bahamaswith increased winds to 15 to 20 knots in the Central Bahamas early. Seas 2 to 4 feet overall areas with seas 4 to 6 feet early in the Central Bahamas.

Wednesday 11th – Partly to mostly sunny, hot and humid with the chance of isolated passing showers during the daytime. Mainly fair skies and warm at first but increasing cloudy periods with few scattered showers or possible thunderstorms likely. Maximum temperature 91°F and minimum temperature 79°F. Small craft should exercise caution for the NW Bahamas. Winds E’ly at 15 to 20 knots in the NW Bahamas and E’ly at 10 to 15 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas. Seas 4 to 6 feet in the NW Bahamas and 2 to 4 feet in the Central and SE Bahamas.

Beachgoers and mariners should be vigilant for rough surf and the moderate to high risk of dangerous rip currents mainly along the east coast beaches during the stated advisories. Mariners should exercise caution for gusty winds and higher seas during heavy showers or thunderstorms. Mariners should also be alert for waterspout activity during the daytime through nightfall across all areas. Localized flooding during heavy downpours across low lying and flood prone areas are expected.
