Gabrielle is Strengthening Over the Eastern Atlantic

NEWS ITEM ON TROPICAL STORM GABRIELLE ISSUED BY THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY FORECAST OFFICE SECTION, AT 12 PM EST, WEDNESDAY 04TH SEPTEMBER 2019.

GABRIELLE IS STRENGTHENING OVER THE EASTERN ATLANTIC

AT 11 AM EDT, THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM GABRIELLE WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 20.5°NORTH AND LONGITUDE 33.8° WEST OR ABOUT 715 MILES WEST-NORTHWEST OF THE CABO VERDE ISLANDS.

GABRIELLE IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTHWEST NEAR 9 MILES PER HOUR AND THIS GENERAL MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE THROUGH SATURDAY WITH AN INCREASE IN FORWARD SPEED EXPECTED LATE IN THE WEEK.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 50 MILES PER HOUR WITH HIGHER GUSTS. LITTLE CHANGE IN STRENGTH IS FORECAST DURING THE NEXT FEW DAYS.
