The PLP convention: Steady as she goes!

Much has occurred in the past two years in Bahamian politics. On May 10, 2017, the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP), the nation’s first and only populace-centric political party, suffered its most devastating defeat at the polls.

Not only was the party unequivocally sent packing by the Bahamian people, winning only four of 39 parliamentary seats, it was the first time in Bahamian history that a sitting prime minister, having served in Parliament for more than 40 years, was rejected by his constituency.

Those were some of the darkest days in the party.
