Despite Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) Leader Philip Brave Davis’ calls for a unified convention, former Tourism Minister Obie Wilchcombe yesterday said he is still considering running for the chairman position.

In a voice note that made rounds over the weekend, PLP Chairman Fred Mitchell said the best way forward for the party is for delegates to support Davis in his quest to become the next prime minister.

He said Davis requested that there be no challenges to his team in the upcoming convention, which begins Thursday.

“Philip Brave Davis has asked for this to be a unified convention,” Mitchell said.

“Let’s, therefore, support his team and give him an honest chance to succeed to be the next prime minister of this country.”
