A 50-year-old man accused of the sexual abuse of a nine-year-old boy yesterday denied the charges at his arraignment in the Supreme Court.

Darron Simmons appeared before Justice Bernard Turner via video-link from the remand center at the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services and was charged with sexual intercourse with a minor of the same sex and indecent assault.

Prosecutors allege that Simmons had sex with the child between October 2018 and December 2018. Simmons allegedly indecently assaulted the same child between October 2018 and January 2019.

Simmons, who could face a life sentence if convicted, pleaded not guilty to both charges.
