The father of a 16-year-old boy who took his own life over the weekend yesterday pleaded with parents to maintain close relationships with their children.

The victim was identified by relatives as Cornell Edwards Jr., a former student at Anatol Rodgers High School.

“For the fellas out there, please be aware of your children and keep them close,” said Cornell’s father, Cornell Edwards Sr.

“There might be battles, you know, but don’t let them win.
