General Situation: A stubborn upper level trough across the NW Bahamas continues to enhance convective activity in the area as a surface high pressure ridge maintains moderate to fresh breezes over the Central and SE Bahamas. The upper level trough will persist across the NW Bahamas and develop into an upper level low with troughing over the entire Bahamas through the remainder of the week. Meanwhile, high pressure ridge will continue to meander north or just near the Extreme NW Bahamas as it produces moderate to fresh breezes in parts of the Central and SE Bahamas.

Beachgoers and mariners should be vigilant for rough surf and the moderate risk of dangerous rip currents mainly along the north and east coast beaches during stated advisories. Mariners should exercise caution for gusty winds and higher seas during heavy showers or thunderstorms. Mariners should also be alert waterspout activity during the daytime across all areas. Residents should take all precautions to remain hydrated and minimize outdoor exposure during peak sunshine periods as heat indices continue to reach the low to the mid-triple-digit range.
