The Bahamas and Canada have signed a bilateral air transport agreement that outlines the steps by which Canadian aviation companies can do business in The Bahamas and Bahamian aviation companies in Canada.

The Ministry of Tourism and Aviation (MOTA) revealed in a press release that the agreement also aims to encourage more Canadian aviation companies to consider The Bahamas.

Minister of Tourism and Aviation Dionisio D’Aguilar explained in the release that the agreement “allows Bahamian aviation companies to take advantage of economic opportunities in Canada”.

“This agreement solidifies our relationship with Canada as it relates to aviation,” D’Aguilar said.
