JJ voted in as WNBA All-Star starter

With the stellar season she is having, Bahamian and Connecticut forward Jonquel “JJ” Jones has been rewarded and voted in as a WNBA All-Star starter in this year’s AT&T WNBA All-Star game set for Saturday, July 27, 2019, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada in the USA.

This is her second All-Star selection.

Jones told the Sun, “It feels good to be back in the All-Star Game.”

She added, “I’m really excited to be out there and be representing the team with all of these fantastic players. Hopefully, I’ll also see some of my teammates out there.”

The starters and captains were revealed on Thursday on ESPN’s The Jump. The 10 players, four guards and six frontcourt players were voted in by fans, current WNBA players and the media.

Captaining the two teams will be the Washington Mystics’ Elena Delle Donne and Las Vegas Aces’ A’ja Wilson.
