Bahamian tennis player Joshua Turnquest was named as the 2018-2019 Male Athlete of the Year for men’s tennis for the River States Conference (RSC) in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).

The conference, which was founded over 100 years ago in 1916, has 13 member institutions representing five states – Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. To achieve the distinction of RSC Male Athlete of the Year, Turnquest led in voting of all the athletic directors of the league. This is the third year that Turnquest has been named as athlete of the year, with the first time being in 2016 as a freshman. Turnquest remained undefeated in the RSC this season.
