To be considered, stories must have been printed or broadcast between November 1st, 2018 and August 16st, 2019. Entries must be received by August 17nd, 2019 by Midnight.
To enter the 2019 Awards, nominees must meet the following criteria:
ELIGIBILITY
1. Must be a member of the working/professional media.
2. Must be a Bahamian citizen or permanent resident with the right to work.
3. Must be 18 years or over.
4. The stories, photographs, videos, documentaries must be published in one of the locally recognized media; broadcast/aired locally, between November 1st, 2018 to August 16th, 2019. (Submit two pieces/stories and /two photographs for judging)
5. Video and audio stories must be no more than two minutes; documentaries, one hour long.
6. All video entries must be prepared at the start with colour bars and the international standard 10 second countdown.
7. Be a catalyst to improve the health of Bahamians. This will be evaluated based on
(a) Innovation
(b) Leadership in taking action
(c) Potential to promote health
(d) Capacity to inform about disease(s) or their risk factors and/or
emerging public health concerns
Entries are invited from media houses (radio, television and print), health agencies, non-government, not-for-profit and private sector organisations. Please note:
• The nominated piece must have been broadcast between November 1st, 2018 and August 16th, 2019.
• Self-nominations are accepted.
• Nominations on behalf of other persons or organisations are accepted, with their consent.
ASSESSMENT
• Nominations will be assessed by an independent judging panel drawn from the media, health promotion and public health experts.
WORK MUST BE PUBLISHED/AIRED BETWEEN: November 1, 2018 AND August 16, 2019.
