BPL to customers with damaged appliances: file a claim

Bahamas Power and Light (BPL) Chairman Dr. Donovan Moxey said yesterday that the company encourages everyone who might have had appliances damaged as a result of the load shedding to file a claim.

Moxey said the company does not want to inconvenience its customers because of any equipment destroyed by power surges.

However, he implored BPL customers to follow the process necessary to receive compensation for damaged items.

“We would encourage everyone who did lose an appliance over the weekend because of this activity to follow BPL’s process on this and to file a claim,” he said.

“We don’t like to inconvenience our customers. In the cases where our customers have been inconvenienced or impacted by this, we want to do everything we can to rectify that situation as soon as we can.”
