Mark Bain, Managing Partner, Caribbean Renewable Energy Ltd., addressed the Ministry of Public Works’ (MOPW) Distinguished Lecture Series Thursday, June 6, 2019 on the topic "Achieving Energy Independence Through the Use of Technology."

Mr. Bain gave the audience, comprising MOPW employees, a summary of the company’s products including the solar roofing system, the power air system, vertical turbines and waste-to-energy systems.

“These products are the way of the future,” said Mr. Bain. “As technology progresses, a lot of products become more affordable to everybody. The goal is to bring the products to Bahamians and create an environment where job opportunities are created.”

He informed that the solar roofing system is more aesthetically pleasing and more efficient when compared to the actual conventional solar panel.

He said the waste-to-energy system eliminates invasive infrastructure required to handle any type of human waste or sludge, and can be used in different concepts including oil refineries.

“For each opportunity we provide a maintenance package and monitor each project to see if there are any deficiencies,” he added.
