Weather Forecast for The Bahamas June 4-9, 2019

General Situation: Residual troughing across the NW Bahamas producing cloudy periods and some unsettled weather in the area as surface high pressure ridging dominate the Central and SE Bahamas with mainly pleasant weather. Developing low level troughing to the north and northwest of the area will bring unstable conditions, especially toward the NW Bahamas this week as weak surface ridging continues over the mainly across the Central and SE Bahamas through the weekend.

Tuesday 04th – Partly cloudy to cloudy, humid and warm with the chance of few isolated scattered showers likely during the daytime, turning fair and warm except for cloudy periods with lingering scattered showers or a possible thunderstorm at night time in the NW Bahamas. Maximum temperature 91°F and a minimum temperature 79°F. Winds variable at 10 knots in the NW Bahamas becoming SSE to SSW at 10 to 15 knots early and E to SE at 10 to 15 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas early. Seas 1 to 3 feet in the NW Bahamas but up to 2 to 4 feet early and 2 to 4 feet in the Central and SE Bahamas early, falling to 1 to 3 feet later.

Wednesday 05th – Variably cloudy, humid and hot with few lingering scattered showers or a possible isolated thunderstorm mainly across the NW Bahamas through nightfall. Maximum temperature 90°F and a minimum temperature 78°F. Winds E to SE at 10 to 15 knots early, becoming more E’ly at 10 knots or less in the Central and SE Bahamas later. Seas 2 to 4 feet across all areas, falling 1 to 3 feet later.

Thursday 06th – Partly to mostly cloudy, humid and hot with the chance of few scattered showers or a possible isolated thunderstorm during the daytime. Partly cloudy to cloudy and warm at night time with the slight chance of a shower or two. Maximum temperature 89°F and a minimum temperature 79°F. Winds E to SE at 10 to 15 knots across all areas early but falling light and variable at times mainly across the NW and Central Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet the entire Bahamas, but falling to 1 to 3 feet mainly across the NW and Central Bahamas later.

Friday 07th – Partly cloudy to cloudy, humid and hot with few isolated passing showers or a possible isolated thunderstorm during the daytime through the night. Maximum temperature 89°F and a minimum temperature 79°F. Winds SSE to SSW at 10 knots or less in the NW Bahamas and E’ly at 10 knots or less in the Central and SE Bahamas, falling light and variable at times. Seas 1to 3 feet over the entire Bahamas.

Saturday 08th – Variable cloudy, humid and hot with few isolated showers during the daytime through nightfall. Maximum temperature 90°F and a minimum temperature 80°F. Winds SE to S at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas, switching more SW to W at 10 to 15 knots later and SE’ly at 10 knots or less in the Central and SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet over the ocean in the NW Bahamas falling to 1 to 3 feet at times and 1 to 3 feet in the Central and SE Bahamas.

Sunday 09th – Mostly cloudy to occasionally overcast, humid and hot with some scattered showers or a possible isolated thunderstorm late in the daytime through nightfall. Maximum temperature 89°F and a minimum temperature 80°F. Winds S’ly at first but veering more W’ly at 10 knots or less in the NW Bahamas and E to SE at 10 knots or less at first in the Central and SE Bahamas, veering more SW’ly to W’ly later. Seas 1 to 3 feet over the entire Bahamas.

Beachgoers and mariners should be vigilant due to rough surf and the high risk of dangerous rip currents mainly along the north and east coast beaches during stated advisories. Mariners should exercise caution for gusty winds and higher seas during heavy showers or thunderstorms.
