Oversee all aspects of the organization’s day-to-day operations including but not limited to: food rescue operations, communications (with staff, volunteers, distribution agencies, sponsors, donors), programming, scheduling, partnership management, talent management, finances and fundraising. The Executive Director acts as Hands for Hunger’s ultimate Ambassador by seizing every opportunity to network and communicate our mission and goals to all partners and stakeholders. This individual will work closely with the Board of Directors of Hands for Hunger, staff and volunteers to lead the implementation of the strategic plan, while engaging in important strategic decision making that will significantly impact the future organizational direction of Hands for Hunger. Qualifications
Critical Skills & Experience Required
• Minimum 5 years of senior management experience in a non-profit organization with notable strategic planning experience (creation, implementation and management)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in financial management, program management and supervision
• Minimum 2 years of experience working with a Board of Directors, ideally a non- profit Board
• Senior level non-profit management experience, including building and managing a team
• Extensive experience and proficiency with public speaking
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE DESIRED
• Substantial experience working on fundraising, new program development, grant writing and policy initiatives
• Familiarity with specialized nonprofit software and CRM/database tools
• Comfort with current & emerging technology, incl. digital & social media
Education Required
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in business management, marketing, social services, public administration, education, food, and nutritional sciences or another related field
• A strong history of volunteer participation & community service
