H.E. Ellison E. Greenslade QPM, Non-Resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas to Ireland, Presented his Letters of Credence and Letters of Recall for his Predecessor H.E. Eldred E. Bethel, Former Ambassador of The Bahamas to Ireland, to H.E. Michael Higgins, President of Ireland on 21st March, 2019, at Áras an Uachtaráin. The Ambassadors of Greece and Zimbabwe also presented their letters to the President. Also, present for the Presentation of Credentials was Minister Kevin “Boxer” Moran, TD, Minister of State at the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform with Special Responsibility for the Office of Public Works and Flood Relief.

Ambassador Greenslade also had a private dialogue with the President and raised The Bahamas’ re-election to the International Maritime Organization and issues facing Small Island Developing States like The Bahamas.

After the Presentation, the National Anthem of The Bahamas was played by the Army No.1 B, Cathal Brugha Barracks and the Ambassador inspected the Guard of Honour.

While in Dublin, the Ambassador met with Mr Feilim McLaughlin, Chief of Protocol, Ms. Niamh Kenny, Assistant Director, Latin America and Caribbean Unit and Ms. Julie O’Brien, Deputy Director, Ireland United Nations Coordination Unit.

Ambassador Greenslade was accompanied by Mrs. Kimberly Greenslade, Spouse of the Ambassador and Mr. Marché A. Mackey, Third Secretary/Vice Consul, Embassy of The Bahamas to Ireland in London.
