The beautiful Staniel Cay Yacht Club was host to an “Ashore @ Staniel” fundraiser last weekend, to assist the Exuma Cay Land and Sea Park. The event, which was proudly sponsored by Bahamian Brewery & Beverage Co. Ltd (BBB), was a major fundraiser for the historic 176 square-mile park, which is the first protected land and sea park in the world.

The two-day event included a full weekend of fun activities including a reception with a silent auction, a scavenger hunt throughout the Exuma Park, ending with a Gala Dinner, and a movie premiere of “Blue Sanctuary Film”.

Bahamian Brewery donated cases of Sands Beer a Bahamian classic along with a financial contribution to help the park, by donating a portion of every purchase of a 3 pack of Sands Beer bought at the Staniel Cay Yacht Club.

“Bahamian Brewery & Beverage Co. Ltd (BBB) fully embraced the opportunity to support the Bahamas National Trust fundraiser for the Exuma Cay Land and Sea Park”, said BBB Executive Sales and Marketing Manager Wellington Seymour.

“The park is one of most successful ecological preserves and wildlife refuges in the world. We hope that our contribution will assist the BNT in the great work they do.”

This new fundraiser for the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park was hosted through the generous support of David and Christina Hocher of the Staniel Cay Yacht Club.

This exciting event which attracted local conservation-minded donors and visiting boaters was a great success for the Bahamas National Trust.

“The BNT is extremely grateful to Bahamian Brewery for their support of the Ashore @ Staniel Cay event, and for their continued support of the organization,” noted Eric Carey, BNT Executive Director.

“The Sands family have had a long affiliation with the Exuma Park, and are committed to ensuring it remains one of the most well-managed protected areas on the planet.”

This park which is known for its pristine beauty, outstanding anchorages and breathtaking marine environment has two simple rules for all visitor: take only photos – leave only footprints and in when in the sea, take only photos – leave only bubbles.
