The Ministry of Finance completed its 6-month budget performance report this week, with results showing continued progress in reducing the deficit. Preliminary data reveals an estimated deficit of $174.2 million, which represents an improvement of $79.7 million or 31.4% compared to the preceding fiscal period of FY2017/18.

“We continue to work incredibly hard to achieve one of our core fiscal targets which is to reduce the deficit. So far, our year on year performance has been positive, and we expect to see that trend continue. As I said at the end of the first quarter, we must stay the course.” said K.
