Now into its fourth week, word has been spreading through the entertainment community that the Nassau Night Market (NNM) is a dynamic platform for upcoming artists to perform and gain exposure.

This week, the NNM stage is being taken over by The Art1st and Geovanni Robinson.

Alexandria Marshall, who goes by the stage name “The Art1st,” is a 24-year-old native of Nassau, Bahamas.

She is a rapper-singer and has been performing as a solo music artist for about 2 years.

She performed her most iconic song “The Antidote” at the Nassau Night Market on December 29th, 2018, and had the crowd lit with energy.

“I like the idea of Bahamians coming together to express and share their talents, ideas and products,” said The Art1st.

“This is what the NNM is about – giving visitors and Bahamians a place they can go for a real Bahamian experience.

The creativity of the entrepreneurs, the vibrancy of the entertainers – it’s a great thing and it’s only going to get bigger and bigger every week.”

20-year-old Geovanni Robinson has been writing, singing, and performing since he was 6 years old. In 2016 he officially released his first tapes including his featured song “WAVY.”

Geovanni’s upcoming performance at the Nassau Night Market leads up to the January 23rd release of his newest tape.

Geovanni was inspired to perform by the hip-hop group Nuvera Era, his friends who performed at the first Nassau Night Market.

“What I really admire is the NNM’s support for local creatives.” Robinson stated. “The creative community needs to stick together and support each other. We’re all we got!”

In addition to the entertainers, visitors to the Nassau Night Market will find food vendors such as Junior’s Jerk Pit, Chop’s Conchy Conch, Savage Cookies, Rushin Wings, Divine Flavor, Marooned Chicken Stop and Nature’s Candy.

Specialty drink seller Bahama Capris and artisans showcasing 100% hand-made products will include Chevy’s Accessories, Rose Essentials, Natural Scrubs, Beagard Land and Sea Designs, Kloset Konfessions, and Emajoriginals.

Geovanni Robinson will be performing at 8:00pm and The Art1st at 9:00pm.

Nassau Night Market, sponsored by Global Port Holdings, will be open on Market Slope, directly east of the Nassau Straw Market every Saturday from 6 pm- 10pm. Entrance is free.
