Amidst all of the holiday parties, Wendy’s continued to show its unwavering dedication to ensure children partake in the most joyous time of the year. The event included canvas painting, holiday karaoke with radio host Big L, a live performance by Bahamian artist M-Deez, holiday characters, face painting, Popeyes catering for children, parents and nurses and last but not least Christmas gifts.

Canvas painting that is popular amongst millennials proved to be a hit with the children. The 50 participants now dubbed artists chose from two pictures; Olaf the snowman from Disney’s Frozen and a Christmas ornament for the experienced, to paint. They enjoyed the full experience with aprons, individual 8 x 10 canvases and music to set the mood and inspire creativity.

Holiday karaoke and surprise guest performance were provided thanks to Movi Group. For the past two years the Movi Group has graciously partnered with Wendy’s to add extra holiday cheer to the children on the ward. Local radio host Big L was the event DJ, and M-Deez performed hit song, TKO. Both nurses and Wendy joined in to make the 2018 Christmas party one to remember.

This year the Wendy’s team brought Popeyes for lunch. On the menu was freshly prepared Louisiana flavored chicken, Cajun fries and buttermilk biscuits with honey. The all-day menu included popcorn, cotton candy and beverages donated by Coca Cola. Winners of the holiday games also received free coupons compliments of Wendy’s.

Santa, one of his elves and Wendy remain the most anticipated part on the program, with a sleigh full of gifts. Their faces lit up with excitement as they walked up to receive their gifts to pose for a photo with Santa and Wendy. The party concluded with a tour of the ward to visit the babies, spread holiday cheer and provide toiletries and blankets.
