KFC Nassau made a significant impact in the local community once again, with the KFC Add Hope Campaign, the annual quest to help alleviate hunger in The Bahamas, and worldwide. This year, the campaign raised over $28,000, as well as a significant amount of non-perishable food items donated by the KFC Nassau staff and team members to assist Hands for Hunger and its vision to transform the Bahamas by bringing food relief and the access of nutritious meals to many Bahamians.

Each year, KFC Nassau joins KFC restaurants around the globe to bring awareness and action to the global crisis of food insecurity through partnering with and leveraging the impact of hunger relief organizations that can provide access to much-needed food resources to those in need. This year, longtime partner of KFC Nassau and local hunger relief and food rescue agency Hands for Hunger was once again named the Add Hope Campaign’s recipient.

“Over the years, the relief efforts of the KFC Nassau Add Hope Campaign has raised a substantial amount of monetary funding and non-perishable food items thanks to the continuous and generous support of the brand’s consumers, staff and the Bahamian community,” said Eldira Backford, Ambassador for KFC Nassau’s Add Hope Campaign. “At KFC Nassau, we are keen in giving back to the local communities we serve and partnering with impactful organizations such as Hands for Hunger, who share in the same sentiments that great progress has been made in the fight against hunger over the years, but understands that with partnerships like this, the progress is even greater.”

KFC Nassau held its award and cheque presentation on December 3rd honoring its staff who played a vital role in this year’s campaign, presenting Hands for Hunger with a cheque of $28,840.00 to assist in providing access to nutritious food to Bahamians in need through its 17 social service agency partners on the island.

“The KFC brand has found a powerful way to unite staff, customers and the community in the fight against hunger and this has enabled Add Hope to increase its reach to those in need. We look forward to next year’s campaign as we continue to bring awareness, take action and create sustainable solutions that will help end this crisis,” Backford concluded.
