Seven Day Forecast for The Bahamas December 13-19, 2018

General Situation: A stationary front in the vicinity of the Southeast Bahamas and will drift northwards and into the Central Bahamas through Friday while dissipating. High pressure will continue to produce brisk winds across the islands through the remainder of the week. Another front will move into the Bahamas late Friday into Saturday reinforcing the cooler and breezy to windy conditions around the islands.

Thursday 13th – Variably cloudy with the chance of isolated showers mainly across the SE Bahamas along the front to partly sunny and warmer across the remainder of the islands during the day. Mainly fair across the NW and Central Bahamas to partly cloudy over the SE Bahamas at night. Maximum temperature 79°F and minimum temperature 66°F. Small craft should exercise caution. Winds E to SE at 15 to 20 knots. Seas 4 to 7 feet over the ocean.

Friday 14th – Partly sunny and breezy with a few passing showers possible during the day. Mainly fair and breezy at night with a passing shower or two possible. Maximum temperature 85°F and minimum temperature 68°F. A small craft advisory will be in effect. Winds E to SE at 15 to 25 knots. Seas 5 to 8 feet over the ocean.

Saturday 15th – Partly cloudy to cloudy and breezy with a few scattered showers possible during the day as the front moves through. Partly cloudy with a passing shower or two possible at night. Maximum temperature 85° and minimum temperature 70°F. Small craft operators should exercise caution in the NW Bahamas and a small craft advisory will be in effect for the Central and SE Bahamas. Winds S to SW at 15 to 20 knots in the NW Bahamas and SE to S at 15 to 25 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas. Seas 4 to 6 feet over the ocean in the NW Bahamas and 5 to 8 feet in the Central and SE Bahamas.

Sunday 16th – Partly cloudy to cloudy with a few isolated showers possible during the day. Partly cloudy and mild with isolated showers possible at night. Maximum temperature 77°F and minimum temperature 65°F. Small craft should exercise caution in the NW Bahamas. Winds W to NW at 15 to 20 knots in the NW Bahamas and SE to S at 10 to 15 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas. Seas 4 to 6 feet over the ocean in the NW Bahamas and 2 to 4 feet in the Central and SE Bahamas.

Monday 17th – Variably cloudy and breezy with the chance of a few scattered showers during the day. Partly cloudy, breezy and turning cool at night with isolated showers possible. Maximum temperature 76°F and minimum temperature 64°F. Small craft operators should exercise caution in the NW Bahamas. Winds W to NW at 15 to 20 knots in the NW Bahamas, NW to N 10 to 15 knots in the Central Bahamas and light and variable in the SE Bahamas. Seas 4 to 6 feet over the ocean in the NW Bahamas, 2 to 4 feet in the Central Bahamas and 1 to 3 feet in SE Bahamas.

Tuesday 18th – Partly sunny and mild with the slight chance of isolated showers during the day. Mainly fair and cool at night. Maximum temperature 77°F and minimum temperature 64°F. Winds NW to N at 10 to 15 knots in the NW and Central Bahamas and 15 knots in the SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet over the ocean in the NW and Central Bahamas and 3 to 5 feet in the SE Bahamas.

Wednesday 19th – Partly sunny and warm with a spotty shower or two possible during the day. Mainly fair, and mild at night. Maximum temperature 82°F and minimum temperature 66°F. Winds NE to E at 10 to 15 knots. Seas 2 to 4 feet over the ocean.

Beachgoers and mariners should exercise caution due to rough surf and the high risk of rip currents along the northern and eastern shorelines during stated advisories.
