Social Services Minister Lauds BahamianWomen in Politics

Minister of Social Services and Urban Development the Hon. Frankie Campbell applauded the contributions of women in Bahamian politics during the Department of Gender and Family Affairs’ Women in Politics symposium held at the Ministry under the theme “Strengthening Partnerships for the Empowerment of Women” on November 28, 2018.

Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture the Hon. Lanisha Rolle joined one of the largest rosters of Bahamian politics personalities in making presentations at the event.

Among those making presentations included the following: the first female Deputy Prime, Minister Cynthia “Mother” Pratt; first female Attorney General, Janet Bostwick, former Speaker of the House of Assembly, Italia Johnson; former Minister of Social Services, Melanie Griffin; Bahamas Constitution Party Leader, Ali McIntosh and Deputy Leader of the Democratic National Alliance, Arinthia Komolafe. Among those taking part and attending the event were President of the Senate the Hon. Katherine Forbes-Smith; Members of Parliament Shonel Ferguson and Miriam Reckley-Emmanuel; Senator Jennifer Isaacs-Dotson; former Senator Gladys Johnson-Sands; Director of Gender and Family Affairs, Dr. Jacinta Higgs; other former candidates and numerous female Government officials and stakeholders.
