Amber Nuttall, daughter of BREEF founder, Sir Nicholas Nuttall Bt., completed a paddleboard challenge to circumnavigate the island of New Providence to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Bahamas Reef Environment Educational Foundation.

The voyage started and finished by the BREEF Coral Reef Sculpture Garden located off the western tip of New Providence- home to the world’s largest Underwater Sculpture- and it took a total of 26 hours to complete.

Having spent half her childhood exploring the islands and reefs of the Bahamas as a child Amber has great love and respect for our waters and is a passionate advocate for marine conservation.

She counts amongst her previous paddle board adventures going from Source to Sea on the UK’s River Thames in 2016 and being the first woman to cross the English Channel to France in 2017.

This year BREEF is celebrating 25 years of Bahamian marine conservation and education. The Bahamian non-governmental organisation reaches thousands of students every year with hands-on marine conservation experiences, and works to promote sustainable use of our limited marine resources.

BREEF recently reached the goal of having at least one BREEF-trained teacher in every school around the country.

In 2014 the organisation created the world-famous BREEF Sir Nicholas Nuttall Coral Reef Sculpture Garden and is growing corals on-site in a nursery to restore reefs around the islands. BREEF held its 25th Anniversary gala event on Saturday 10th November.
