LCIS to Host Upcoming Admission Events

Tue, Nov 6th 2018, 04:12 PM

Lyford Cay International School (LCIS) will host two admissions events for families seeking to enroll their children for the 2019–20 school year.

The first event will be an information session in the Lucayan Room at the Melia Nassau Beach on Wednesday 7 November at 6pm, followed by an Open House and campus tour at the school in Lyford Cay on Tuesday 20 November from 1pm to 4pm.

At these events, prospective parents and students will have an opportunity to learn about the curriculum and programmes at LCIS and meet current parents, teachers and members of the school’s administration.

Scholarships and financial aid packages that cover 10%–90% of tuition are available for qualified students.

This year, the school is looking to recruit a student in Grade 5-7 for a special full scholarship.

LCIS Admissions Director, Mrs Rose-Marie Taylor, shares her excitement for these opportunities, stating: ‘This financial assistance enables Bahamian students to gain a high-quality international education in a diverse environment and to matriculate into some of the best universities in the world upon graduation.’

The benefits of an LCIS education can be seen most clearly through the school’s graduates who annually are accepted to their first-choice universities and, to date, work or study in 24 countries on six continents around the world.

The success of these graduates is rooted in the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme that prepares students with critical and creative–thinking skills.

Christal Adderley, a senior in LCIS’s class of 2019, describes her time at LCIS as transformative saying, ‘all of my personal challenges were overcome through the community and support that the students and faculty provided at LCIS.’

Adderley added, ‘LCIS is more than just a high school; it is also a space where everlasting bonds and everlasting learning is created.’

LCIS is currently in the early stages of construction on a brand new, state–of–the–art secondary campus.

The completion of this project will greatly expand opportunities for Bahamian students to pursue a world-class International Baccalaureate (IB) education offered by the school through scholarships and financial aid opportunities.

Applications are due for priority consideration by 15 December and will be accepted on a space-available basis. For more information, please contact admissions@lcis.bs, or visit the school’s website at www.lcis.bs.
