Donald Morgan Brown passed away May 2, 2011. He was born October 25, 1928 in Nassau to the late Captain Christopher Morgan Brown and Agnes Kemp of Lightbourn Lane, East Bay Street. Donald grew up on the water and spent many a day in the harbour and Hog Island. He started Brown’s Boat Basin at a young age in 1951 and his brother, Sidney joined him shortly after and it continues to be a family tradition. He was an avid boater from a child and loved the water. He spent years managing the tugboats for his father, a harbour pilot, and began training for his pilot license until he had to choose between piloting and managing the boatyard.
