The Bahamas Football Association’s youth League is schedule to begin October 19, 2018. To this end the Football Association with the assistance of Doctor’s Hospital held a one day training course centered on CPR/ First Aid training for 14 members of its members.

The one day session brought together coaches, referees, soccer moms and administrators in an effort to have as many certified personnel as possible to help on the sidelines in the event an accident occurs.

The participants enjoyed the course and came away with a feeling of empowerment as they trained on first aid for on field accidents, CPR for situations if they develop and they also got training on life saving equipment such as the AED, portable defibrillation device.

The Youth League requires that each team have one certified person on hand for their matches.

Nicole Henfield, NAD manager, when asked what she thought of the training course said,” when I volunteered to a part of this all day session I had no idea what I was in for.

The wealth of knowledge I gained and the ability to assist or to save a life was priceless. Thank you BFA!”

Secretary General Frederick Lunn Jr who was on hand to greet the participants, thanked them for giving up their Saturday for a very worthwhile venture.

He assured them that the FA will shortly host another free session for more members so that more hands will go towards making light work.
