THIS IS A NEWS ITEM ON TROPICAL STORM ISAAC ISSUED BY THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY FORECAST OFFICE, AT 6:00 PM, THURSDAY 13TH SEPTEMBER, 2018.

…ALL TROPICAL STORM WATCHES AND WARNINGS FOR ISAAC HAVE ENDED…

AT 5:00 PM EDT, THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM ISAAC WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 14.9°NORTH AND LONGITUDE 63.2° WEST OR ABOUT 220 MILES SOUTH-SOUTHEAST OF ST. CROIX AND ABOUT 510 MILES EASTSOUTHEAST OF SANTO DOMINGO, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC.

ISAAC IS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST NEAR 16 MILES PER HOUR. THIS GENERAL MOTION WITH A DECREASE IN FORWARD SPEEDIS EXPECTED FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS. ISAAC SHOULD MOVE FURTHER AWAY FROM THE LESSER ANTILLES TODAY, AND THEN MOVE ACROSS THE EASTERN AND CENTRAL CARIBBEAN SEA THROUGH THE WEEKEND.
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS HAS DECREAASED TO NEAR 40 MILES PER HOUR (MPH) WITH HIGHER GUSTS. ISAAC IS FORECAST TO GRADUALLY WEAKEN OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS, AND COULD DEGENERATE INTO A TROPICAL WAVE DURING THAT TIME.
