Who is looking after the history in our old buildings

Dear Editor,

Last August newspaper headlines questioned the fate of two historic buildings on the Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) compound.
The two frail buildings sit near the Shirley Street entrance to the PMH, an institution struggling to meet its mandate of providing quality health care services to all residents and visitors.

In response to the headlines, the Public Health Authority (the agency that runs the PMH and other medical facilities throughout The Bahamas) touted plans for a state-of-the-art building to be located where the two old buildings now sit.
