On Friday, August 31st, The Bahamas Professional Golf Tour hosted the 4th Classic in the 2018 Signature Series of Professional Golf Play.
Both Professional Golfers as well as a very strong amateur representation; ALL Teed-Off with their sights set on the Super Bonus of $1,000,000.00 should their game qualify them for a shot at the RMS/MASSY $1,000,000 Hole-In-One JACKPOT. Tournament Play from the opening drives was intense.
Players came out to register earlier than in the previous classics to get in some practice drives, swings and putts in preparation for an intensely competitive 18 holes of golf. A BPGT Familiar Favourite; Veteran Pro & Golf Coach Jim Duncombe “Swing Doctor” returned to the greens and was joined by another Veteran and Golf Great; Jimmy Delancy.
The seasoned Pros kept the game moving along at a steady yet strategic pace as Coach Collins regulated and officiated tournament play and pace.
Tournament play remained fierce and competitive ending with Greg Maycock and Sean Longley both qualifying for a shot at the $1,000,000 Hole-in-One Bonus.
The Chance of A Lifetime BPGT $1,000,000 Bonus was intensely observed from The Royal Blue Golf Course Club House as the pitch deck fell super silent at Hole 12. Greg Maycock landed a mammoth drive landing just 15 feet shy of his $1,000,000 Bonus.
Nonetheless, Greg was the 4th Classics overall Pro Division Winner finishing - One Under PAR shooting score of 71.
Greg commented that his Back 9 was definitely less impressive than the Front Nine but over the past three months he has been able to practice the Royal Blue Course more to move from a two time second place finisher in both the 1st and 2nd BPGT Classics to a 1st Place Finish in Round Four!
JR Russell captured his first cash winnings in the Signature Series with a 77; 5 OVER PAR and has advanced on the BPGT Leaderboard.
Special Congratulations to Riccardo Davis; BPGT Founder & Director with a 3rd Place Finish with a score if 78; 6 PAR.
In the Amateur Division, Richard Gibson Jr secured both the 1st Place Amateur Title shooting ONE OVER PAR for a score of 73; along with sharing the Overall Amateur Team Winner Title. Ryan Major ended his day with a successful 2nd place Amateur Division Title with the same ONE OVER PAR; a score of 73 . BGF President Lynford Miller secured the 3rd Place Amateur Division Title with a score of 75; THREE OVER PAR.
