Businessman in dispute with road contractor and govt

A business owner and the Ministry of Works are locked in a dispute over the cost of moving a fence and sign the road works contractor says is impeding its progress.
Gary Sands, owner of Sanco Auto Sales and Car Rentals, told The Nassau Guardian yesterday that the Ministry of Works and contractor Jose Cartellone Construcciones Civiles (JCCC) mandated that he move the fence and sign on his business property on Prince Charles Drive and Sayle Avenue several feet back to accommodate the road construction.
Sands said he had no problem complying with the ministry and JCCC, but contended that he would move the fence and a sign only if they were willing to pay the almost $3,000 cost of replacement. He ad ...
