In an effort to improve the Water and Sewerage Corporation’s (WSC) efficiency of services, WSC board members are in the United Kingdom visiting with various water utilities and regulators.

While there, members of the board of directors and executive management of the made a courtesy call on His Excellency Ellison Greenslade at the Bahamas High Commission in London.

The WSC evolved from the Ministry of Works as a water department and has been in existence since 1973.

According to a release, as the primary provider of this most important consumable -- “water” -- WSC must make changes and strive for continuous improvements to ensure the affordable and effective delivery of this product. This applies to the production, storage, delivery, and maintenance of all related systems of water as well as the treatment, disposal and reuse of wastewater.

As WSC is in the process of introducing best practices, the corporation seeks further knowledge and understanding of both water and sanitation services. The corporation hopes to share some common practices, looks forward to fruitful discussion, and long-term relations with the various firms.
