Arguably one of the most highly anticipated sporting events of the year, this year’s FIFA World Cup Championships has grabbed the attention of soccer fans across the globe, including here in The Bahamas. The 2018 world cup which will be held in Moscow Russia is expected to attract millions of viewers who will watch from the edge of their seats as teams from 32 countries compete for the coveted World Champions Trophy.

The World Cup is considered the largest sports tournament in the world and continues to attract millions of viewers surpassing even the Olympic Games. This year, the FIFA organization marks its 21st anniversary and for one lucky Bahamian soccer fan this year’s games are extra special as one of our own will have the opportunity to watch the action live from the stands in the Otkritie Arena, in Moscow.

The ‘Trip of a Lifetime’ is made possible through the partnership with Budweiser Beer and the Bahamian Brewery & Beverage Company, which saw hundreds of entries come down to one lucky winner: Anthony Bullard. On May 20th, the Nassau native was chosen at the overall winner during a live drawing held at Jimmy’s Wines & Spirits Cable Beach location.

“I’m very excited about this” he gushed, “It’s a great opportunity and I’m happy that I was chosen. My thanks to Budweiser and the Bahamian Brewery – I can’t believe it.”
Bullard will receive an all-expense paid trip to see what one of the most highly anticipated match-ups of the series; the game between Brazil and Serbia on June 27th.

Bullard’s journey will be chronicled on the Brewery and Budweiser Beer social media pages. “We encourage everyone to follow Anthony on his epic trip,” said Manuel Bartolo, Budweiser Bahamas Representative.  “He joins scores of winners chosen from around the world to watch the world’s most watched sport LIVE.” He will also be accompanied with local sports enthusiast and commentator Renaldo Dorsett who will provide live updates for fans following via the internet.

While Bullard will be headed to Russia, three other locals were gifted with prizes which included exclusive Budweiser merchandise and even free Budweiser for their participation in the promotion as well. Avery Johnson, Vidal Meza Sanchez and Michael Jones were also chosen from hundreds of entries received over the past two weeks. Over the next few weeks Budweiser will continue its FIFA promotion throughout the entire soccer championship season giving bud drinkers the chance to take advantage of special offers and even more opportunities to win FIFA prizes while enjoying the games at home or online.
