Labour Department Held Compliance and Procedure Seminar for Trade Union Leaders

The Regulatory and Compliance Unit of the Department of Labour, in the Ministry of Labour, hosted a one-day seminar for persons enrolled in Trade Unions on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at The  Bahamas Communications and Public Officers Union (BCPOU) building.

 Labour Department Held Compliance and Procedure Seminar for Trade Union LeadersTrade union leaders in the country received important information on compliance and procedure as it relates to the proper functioning of trade unions. Topics addressed included trade union elections, industrial agreement submissions, annual returns, the constitution and compliance.

The seminar was facilitated by the Registrar of Trade Unions and the Director of Labour Robert Farquharson and other senior management of the Department of Labour. The seminar's aim was to ensure the proper and legal functioning of all trade unions in the country.
