Turks and Caicos islanders Jamesly Prosper and Olga Kudrytska couldn’t believe their luck at winning $1,000 cash-back from CIBC FirstCaribbean as part of the bank’s regional “All is Bright” Christmas campaign.
Jamesly said, “I was shocked because I’ve never won anything before – I don’t have that kind of luck, but this was my lucky day.”
Olga shared Jamesly’s initial disbelief. “First I was surprised, and then I thought it was a joke. When I realized it was for real I was ecstatic.”
CIBC FirstCaribbean’s “All is Bright” campaign was designed to encourage people to avoid carrying large amounts of cash during the holiday shopping period and instead, to use their credit cards.
All bank customers were automatically entered for a chance to win with every purchase of US$50 or more using their Visa Classic, Cash Back, and Visa Gold cards between November 1st and December 31st.
“I’ve been with CIBC [FirstCaribbean] for 13 or 14 years now. I think they’re one of the best banks here on the island when it comes to customer service. I’ve built a good relationship with them and I have no complaints,” Jamesly said.
“It feels great to be one of the winners. It couldn’t have come at a better time and I hope it’s a sign of things to come,” he added.
Olga has big plans for her prize. “I will use it towards my vacation to Italy. I’ve lived here for 15 years and CIBC [FirstCaribbean] has always been my bank. I opened my first account with CIBC [FirstCaribbean] and I’ve been with them ever since. It’s nice to get a reward out of that.”
Bianca Duguid-Smith, CIBC FirstCaribbean’s Manager, Credit Cards, said, “We are very pleased with the competition and how our card holders responded. It was held in 14 of the territories in which we operate and was part of our annual effort to give back and reward our cardholders for their loyalty.”
The draws took place recently, and winners received their prizes throughout the month of March.
