This year, BTC has continued to step up its support and is putting its own hands on the wheel, making small sacrifices with the intent of reaping big returns in the future.

Late last year, the company introduced its “BTC Learning Everyday” reading tour.

Since its inception, BTC’s brand ambassadors and team members have visited scores of primary schools in New Providence.

Over the last two weeks, the company’s own technical teams have demonstrated their commitment to making the program work.

So much so, that one engineer from New Providence and one technician from Andros sacrificed their lunch hour to read stories to our little ones.

Technical Manager for Andros & The Berry Island, Tina Cooper is always in high demand.

In fact, her work never stops, and as a native of Andros, folks in the community know her personally and lean on her for support, even after the end of a work day.

Community minded Tina visited the Clara E. Evans Primary School last week. She said, “This corporate initiative is extremely good for BTC.

We are investing time in the darlings of this nation. The bible says in Proverbs 22: 6, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.’

It was truly a privilege to read to a fantastic group of second-grade students.”

Tina shared the stories “Frog & Toad” and “The Garden” with the students.

Over in New Providence, Kevin Davies a thirty plus year engineer, spent his lunch hour with two dozen sixth graders at Stephen Dillet Primary.

Kevin, after reading a chapter from the novel, “Mrs. Frisby and The Rats of NIMH”, shared a bit about himself and explained his job in detail for the students.

BTC believes that reading is fundamentally important in the growth and development of the nation’s youth.

Manager for Public Relations, Indira Collie said, “Over 900 million people in the world are unable to read or write.

As such, this literacy program is very important to us, and we believe that this investment will pay its dividends in the long run. It is important that we encourage our children to read.”

Over the next two weeks, BTC will visit schools in Abaco and Grand Bahama.
