About Cans for Kids
Cans for Kids is a registered non-profit organization which collects aluminum across the Bahamas for export. Our goal is to reduce the waste stream into the various landfills. Cans for Kids works to get Bahamian youth involved by partnering with schools. Participating schools receive proceeds generated from the sale of aluminum collected at their school for use on various educational initiatives. For more information please visit www.recycle242.com

Functions of the position include

Increasing public awareness via presentations to interested schools, civic organizations, and companies
Execute media plan as crafted by the Board
Organize and execute campaigns / contests with participating schools to increase aluminum recovery
Managing social media accounts with oversight from the Board
Suggest new locations for bin placement, and explore feasibility with location representatives Ensure cans are being collected as required, managing any complaints and recommending solutions Recording aluminum received by collection point
Prepare quarterly reports focusing on collection numbers, public relations achievements and all other developments
Manage volunteer database

Qualifications

BA in business management or environmental / sustainable development related field
Valid driver’s licence
2 years experience in project management or supervisory position in environmental field

Skills
Analytical and time management skills
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
Ability to work efficiently with limited supervision, and take ownership for assigned responsibilities
Strong interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Powerpoint
Ability to multi-task and communicate effectively
